The Simulaids Training Vest has been designed with the assistance of the International Association of Fire Fighters (I.A.F. F.) to aid in the physical ability testing of fire department candidates. The vest weighs 50 lbs., simulating the weight of the fire fighter's protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. It is also designed to allow for the addition of two 2-lb. weights on the shoulders to simulate a high-rise pack (hose bundle). The vest, the shoulder weights, and Rescue Randy are exclusively required for the validated Candidate Physical Ability Test developed by the I.A.F.F./I.A.F.C. Joint Fire Service Wellness-Fitness Initiative.
