Het Simulaids Trainingsvest is ontworpen met hulp van de Internationale Vereniging van Brandweerlieden (I.A.F.F.) om te ondersteunen bij het lichamelijk geschiktheidsonderzoek van brandweerkandidaten. Het vest weegt 50 pond en simuleert het gewicht van de beschermende kleding en het ademluchttoestel van de brandweerman. Het is ook zo gemaakt dat er twee gewichten van 12½ pond op de schouders kunnen worden toegevoegd om een hoogbouwpakket (slangenbundel) na te bootsen. Het vest, de schoudergewichten en Rescue Randy zijn uitsluitend vereist voor de gevalideerde Kandidaten Lichamelijke Geschiktheidstest ontwikkeld door de I.A.F.F./I.A.F.C. Gezondheids- en Fitheidsinitiatief voor de Brandweer.

The Simulaids Training Vest has been designed with the assistance of the International Association of Fire Fighters (I.A.F. F.) to aid in the physical ability testing of fire department candidates. The vest weighs 50 lbs., simulating the weight of the fire fighter's protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. It is also designed to allow for the addition of two 2-lb. weights on the shoulders to simulate a high-rise pack (hose bundle). The vest, the shoulder weights, and Rescue Randy are exclusively required for the validated Candidate Physical Ability Test developed by the I.A.F.F./I.A.F.C. Joint Fire Service Wellness-Fitness Initiative.
